photography yo, Canon T2i

Monday, September 13th, 2010

So until this point if you ever saw a sweet photo on my site it was probably taken by someone else, lol. Most pictures are frames that I pulled out of my video camera or were from an actual photographer. And, most were never edited with color correction. BUT, hopefully those days will stay behind me. I upgraded to a Canon T2i for both my video and photography needs. I’ve always drooled over my friends cameras and bugged em with questions on how they work. When I’m not finishing my degree in finance I’m watching videos on Vimeo non stop. I always ask for feedback on the things I put on here because I’m just learning it as it goes, no classes. So, I hope this will be the beginning of some improved images on here.

This last weekend I had Sunday off and with no rain the upper peninsula of Michigan is dry. I had heard people talk about Piers Gorge on the Menominee before, so, my mind going crazy without paddling was motivated enough to drive the 2 hours by myself for a little class III/IV soul boating. I got there early in the morning and took a little adventure walk to scope out the place and take some shots. Even though the whitewater is short, it was still a beautiful place to go.

After my photo session I grabbed my Remix Hungee, put in my Ipod, and before I new it, it was 3pm and I had lost track of how many times I ran the little gorge. My guess is 10 and by how sore I was today that might be about right. Here are some of the first shots taken with my new camera. I’m taking a class on black and white photography right now so hence the inspiration behind these. Let me know, thanks, Shot with a canon T2i and USM f/3.6 28-135mm

M Wave… Tradition

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

Well, my last week of summer has finally made it’s way in. While I am excited to finish my Senior year at NMU. Leaving Colorado is never easy. It’s been an epic season out here with flows holding out far better than expected. Like clockwork I again finished the season up with an awesome M-Wave session. The cold water and hot sun makes for the perfect combination. Hanging with the legendary Stevo Parker just doesn’t get too much better. The Liquidlogic Biscuit is made for this wave. It has the loosest hull around and the forgiving edges are just what you need on a super fast feature like M Wave. This year was one of the first years I’ve had, where I actually felt in control on that beastly wave. Until next year. I hope some photos keep the stoke alive. Stevo was having a good time playing with angles on my camera. Should make some great Driven EP. 4 footage.

Don’t waste any more time. Summer is ending and you don’t want to regret not getting out there while you still have the time!

Driven Episode 3

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Here it is, episode 3. This one pretty much wraps up the Tour of Colorado Classics with things like the Poudre Narrows, Bailey, Lake Creek, and Crystal Gorge. Pumped to have some footage from Rex Lint and his bad ass Canon 5D mkII. I hope you enjoy. Feedback is always appreciated.
